Message from chairperson Prof. Kawamura.
Highly Frustrated Magnetism 2006 has successfully been closed on Aug. 19.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I wish to express my thanks to all of you, who attended the conference, gave poster or oral presentations, joined lively discussions both inside and out side the conference room, and helped us in organizing the conference.

It appears that frustrated magnetism is now rapidly growing . In this HFM2006, we had about 190 participants from all over the world. A lot of new materials, novel phenomena and new concepts originated from frustration were reported and discussed during the conference. We really enjoyed all of these interesting developments offered us by recent active research on frustration.@The conference proceedings will be published as a regular issue of Journal of Physics Condensed Matter around March, 2007. I hope you will also enjoy the photos of the conference provided in this homepage.

In view of the rapid development in this field, it has been decided at the conference that the next HFM is held after two years, in the year of 2008, in Braunschweig, Germany.

I am looking forward to seeing you all again in HFM2008 in Braunschweig, Germany,

Hikaru Kawamura (conference chairperson of HFM2006)
