International travelers

We recommend flying into the Baltimore-Washington International Airport.  There are other options, described below, but they may be less convenient.

Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI)

  • 15 miles (24 km) away. BWI web site.
  • Taxi: $45.
  • SuperShuttle: $23 for the 1st passenger, $12 for an additional passenger.
  • Airport Shuttle.  $36 for the 1st passenger, $8 for an additional passenger.
  • Light rail to Penn Station, then take a taxi.

Reagan National Airport (DCA)

  • Washington, DC, 47 miles (75 km) away.  DCA web site.
  • Taxi: $100 (estimate).
  • SuperShuttle: $50 for the 1st passenger, $10 for an additional passenger.
  • Airport Shuttle.  $98 for the 1st passenger, $15 for an additional passanger.
  • Taxi or Metro to the Union Station, Amtrak train to Baltimore's Penn Station, taxi.

Washington Dulles Internationation Airport (IAD)

  • Virginia, 64 miles (100 km) away. IAD web site.
  • Airport Shuttle.  $99 for the 1st passennger, $15 for an additional passenger.
  • Rental car.  Get a GPS unless you know the area well.  Expect major traffic delays throughout the day.
  • Washington Flyer coach bus to Westfalls Church Station ($10), Metro to Union Station, Amtrak to Penn Station, taxi.  This is a long and tedious trip.

US travelers

  • All major US airlines fly to Baltimore-Washington (BWI), Reagan National (DCA), and Dulles (IAD).  See above for directions from the airports.
  • Southwest Airlines has nonstop service to BWI from 38 US cities.  Book your flight directly from the airline's web site as it does not sell tickets through online travel agencies.
  • Amtrak connects Baltimore to major cities on the Northeast Corridor.
  • Driving directions.
